Watermelon

Good nutritional profile

Raw watermelon flesh.

Watermelon — photo 1

Watermelon is a summer fruit that is more than 90% water, eaten fresh in slices or cubes. A wedge of about 280 g of flesh gives about 85 kcal and 17 g of sugar, and it supplies about a quarter of the daily value of vitamin C. Its glycemic index is high, but because it is so watery a typical wedge carries only about 20 g of carbohydrate, so its glycemic load is moderate.
