Moderate nutritional value
Rolls filled with vegetables or meat.
Spring rolls are thin wheat wrappers rolled around shredded cabbage, carrot, glass noodles and sometimes pork or shrimp, then deep-fried until crisp and served with a sweet chili or soy dipping sauce. Frying makes them high in fat and calories for their size, with little protein. A 100 g portion of fried rolls is about 220 kcal; baked rolls carry much less fat.
