Limited nutritional benefit
Sliced cooked ham, regular (not extra-lean), ready to eat as sold.
Sliced ham is cured, cooked pork sold ready to eat, mostly used in sandwiches, salads and breakfast dishes. It is high in sodium: a 50 g sandwich portion has about 400 mg, along with about 8 g of protein and 0.3 mg of thiamin (vitamin B1), a quarter of the daily value. Curing brines contain salt and often sugar, so ham has a few grams of carbohydrate per 100 g, while fresh pork has none.
