Bread dipped in egg and fried.
French toast is slices of bread soaked in beaten egg and milk, often with cinnamon and vanilla, then fried in butter and served with syrup, powdered sugar or fruit. It provides a fair amount of protein from the egg and milk, but it is mostly refined carbohydrate, and syrup adds a lot of sugar. Whole-grain bread topped with berries instead of syrup adds fiber and cuts the added sugar.
