Good nutritional profile
Long-grain brown rice, values for the dry uncooked grain.
Brown rice is whole-grain rice with only the inedible hull removed, keeping the bran and germ. A 75 g dry portion gives about 275 kcal, 5.7 g of protein and 2.7 g of fiber, and it is high in manganese, thiamin, niacin, copper, selenium and magnesium, with useful vitamin B6 and phosphorus. Its oily bran can turn rancid, so store it cool. Dry brown rice about triples in weight when boiled: 75 g makes about 220 g cooked.
