Beer

Limited nutritional benefit

Regular beer (not light), about 5% alcohol.

Beer — photo 1

Regular beer is brewed from malted barley, hops, yeast and water, and is most often a pale lager. A 330 ml bottle has about 142 kcal, around 13 g of alcohol and 12 g of carbohydrate, and few vitamins or minerals apart from a little niacin. Stronger craft beers can have up to twice the alcohol and calories, light beers have fewer, and beer brewed from barley contains gluten.
