A muscle on the lateral side of the leg that everts and plantarflexes the ankle.

The peroneus longus is a muscle located on the lateral side of the leg. It originates from the head and upper two-thirds of the fibula and inserts into the medial cuneiform and first metatarsal. It everts the foot (turns it outward) and assists in plantarflexion. It helps stabilize the ankle and arch of the foot.
