Good nutritional profile
Light tuna canned in oil, values for the drained fish.
Canned light tuna, mostly skipjack, packed in vegetable oil and eaten in salads, sandwiches and pasta. A 100 g drained portion gives about 200 kcal and 29 g of protein with 8 g of fat, most of it absorbed packing oil, and is very high in selenium and niacin and high in vitamin B12, with about 420 mg of sodium. Draining removes only part of the oil, so it has more than twice the calories of tuna in water; its omega-3 fat content is low.
