Exceptional nutritional value
White button mushrooms, raw.
White button mushrooms are the same species as cremini and portobello mushrooms and are eaten raw in salads or pan-fried, grilled and added to sauces. A 100 g portion has 22 kcal and is a good source of riboflavin, niacin, copper and selenium. Ordinary mushrooms like these contain almost no vitamin D, but mushrooms exposed to UV light can provide more than the daily value in 100 g.
