Red kidney beans boiled without salt, values for the cooked beans.
Red kidney beans are a staple of chili, Indian rajma, red beans and rice, and bean salads. A 150 g cooked portion gives about 190 kcal, 13 g of protein and 11 g of fiber, and is high in folate, copper, manganese and iron, with useful thiamin, phosphorus and magnesium. Dry kidney beans swell to about 2.7 times their weight when cooked, so 150 g cooked is about 56 g dry.
