Moderate nutritional value
Tomato ketchup, values as sold.
Ketchup is a sweet and sour sauce of tomato concentrate, sugar, vinegar, salt and spices, served with fries, burgers, sausages and eggs. A 15 g serving, about a tablespoon, has about 15 kcal and 4 g of carbohydrate, of which about 3 g is sugar, and about 136 mg of sodium. About a fifth of ketchup by weight is sugar, so large squeezes add up; reduced-sugar and low-salt versions are sold.
