Hazelnuts — photo 1

Hazelnuts are eaten raw or roasted as a snack and used in chocolate, spreads, cakes and pralines. A 30 g handful has about 190 kcal and 18 g of fat, most of it monounsaturated, and is very high in manganese and copper, with a good amount of vitamin E (about 4.5 mg) and some thiamin and magnesium. Roasting and removing the skins changes the values little.
