Limited nutritional benefit
Deep-fried potato strips.
French fries are strips of potato deep-fried in oil, often twice, until crisp outside and soft inside, and served salted with ketchup or other sauces. They are high in starch and fat, low in protein, and the salt adds sodium. A 150 g portion is about 470 kcal; air-fried or oven-baked fries use far less oil.
