Dry Split Peas

Exceptional nutritional value

Dry green split peas, values for the raw, uncooked peas.

Dry Split Peas — photo 1

Dry split peas as sold, simmered into pea soup, dal and purees; they need no soaking. A 60 g dry portion gives about 220 kcal, 14 g of protein and 13 g of fiber, and is high in copper, folate and thiamin, with useful manganese, zinc, magnesium and iron. Log the dry weight: split peas swell to about 3 times their weight when cooked, so 60 g dry makes about 180 g cooked.
