Cassava (yuca, manioc) root boiled in unsalted water, values for the cooked root.
Cassava, also called yuca or manioc, is a starchy root eaten boiled, mashed or fried across Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. A 150 g boiled portion gives about 200 kcal, almost all from starch, with under 2 g of protein and 2 g of fiber, plus some manganese, vitamin C and copper. Always peel and cook cassava before eating; peeled root gains about 20% in weight when boiled.
