The extensor carpi ulnaris is a muscle in the posterior compartment of the forearm. It originates from the lateral epicondyle of the humerus and the ulna, and inserts into the base of the fifth metacarpal. It extends and adducts the wrist. It is important for wrist stability and grip strength.
