Good nutritional profile
Chinese broth with pork and shrimp wontons and bok choy.
Wonton soup is pork and shrimp dumplings in thin wheat wrappers, boiled and served in clear chicken broth with bok choy, green onion, soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil. A five-wonton bowl is moderate in calories and gives about 19 g of protein, while the soy sauce and broth make it high in sodium. To cut the sodium, use low-sodium broth and add soy sauce at the table.

Finely chop the shrimp and mix with the pork, 2 tsp soy sauce, the wine, 1 tsp sesame oil, the ginger, half the chopped green onions and a pinch of white pepper.
Place about 1 tbsp of filling in the center of each wrapper, wet the edges, fold into a triangle and press the two corners together.
Bring the broth to a simmer with the remaining soy sauce and season with white pepper.
Boil the wontons in a separate large pot of water for 4 to 5 minutes, until they float and the filling is cooked.
Add the halved bok choy to the broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
Lift the wontons into bowls with a slotted spoon, ladle over the broth and bok choy, and finish with the remaining sesame oil and green onions.
