Ukrainian drink of dried apples, pears and prunes with honey.
Uzvar is a traditional Ukrainian drink of dried apples, pears, prunes and raisins simmered in water, left to infuse for several hours and lightly sweetened with honey, served cool, especially on Christmas Eve. A 250 ml glass with some of the fruit has about 115 kcal and 27 g of sugar, most of it from the fruit, plus 2.7 g of fiber. Leaving out the honey saves about 30 kcal per glass.

Rinse the dried apples, pears, prunes and raisins in warm water, changing the water twice, and drain.
Put the pears and apples into a large pot with the water, bring to a boil and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Add the prunes, raisins and the cinnamon stick and simmer for 5 minutes more.
Take the pot off the heat, cover it and leave the drink to infuse for at least 3 hours, or overnight in a cool place.
When the drink has cooled to lukewarm, stir in the honey until it dissolves; add more to taste.
Remove the cinnamon stick and serve the uzvar at room temperature or chilled, ladling some of the soft fruit into each glass.
