Steak

Good nutritional profile

Grilled or pan-seared beef steak.

Steak — photo 1

Steak is a thick cut of beef such as sirloin, ribeye or fillet, seasoned with salt and pepper and grilled or pan-seared, often basted with butter. It is high in protein, a good source of iron, zinc and vitamin B12, and has no carbohydrate; the fat depends on the cut, and ribeye has much more than sirloin or fillet. Trimming the visible fat before eating cuts the saturated fat.
