Exceptional nutritional value
Alaska pollock, a lean white fish, values for the raw fillet.
Alaska pollock is a mild, lean white fish of the cod family, sold mostly as frozen fillets and used for fish sticks and surimi. A 150 g raw fillet gives about 115 kcal and 26 g of protein with about 1 g of fat, and is high in vitamin B12, selenium and phosphorus. Like cod it has little omega-3 fat; some frozen fillets are treated to hold extra water, which lowers the protein and raises the sodium.
